Description

Synulox 250 mg (amoxicillin + Clavulanic Acid) (Analog Clavacillin, Clavamox, Clavaseptin, Betacillin), 10 tablets

Treatment of a range of bacterial infections, including skin disease, soft tissue infections…

Composition and form of release
Synulox tablets 250 mg are round pink tablets with a dividing groove on one side and the inscription “Synulox” on the other side. Each tablet contains 200 mg of amoxicillin in the form of amoxicillin trihydrate and 50 mg of clavulanic acid in the form of sodium clavulanate. They are produced in packs of 10 pieces in foil strips, which are placed in cardboard boxes.

Pharmacological properties
Amoxicillin is a broad-spectrum semisynthetic penicillin that has a rapid bactericidal effect on many gram-positive (Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp., Corynebacterium spp.) And gram-negative bacteria (Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Bordetella bronchiseptica, Proteteus spp.) including b-lactamase-producing strains. Resistance to b-lactam antibacterial drugs is usually due to the ability of microorganisms to produce b-lactamase, an enzyme that destroys the b-lactam ring of an antibiotic before it can act on a bacterial cell. Clavulanic acid, which is part of Synulox, inactivates b-lactamase and thereby restores the bacterium’s sensitivity to the bactericidal action of amoxicillin in concentrations that are easily achieved in animal tissues after administration of the drug.

Indications
Prescribed to dogs and cats for the treatment of infections of bacterial etiology: diseases of the skin and soft tissues (abscesses, pyoderma, inflammation of the paranal glands, gingivitis, stomatitis, etc.), respiratory diseases, diseases of the genitourinary system and enteritis.

Doses and method of administration
Synuloxtablets 250 mg are administered to sick animals directly into the mouth or crumbled together with feed at a dose of 12.5 mg per 1 kg of animal weight (for example, with an animal weighing 26-35 kg – 1.5 tablets of Synulox 250 mg, with an animal weighing over 50 kg – 3 tablets of Synulox 250 mg) 2 times a day for 5-7 days. If the disease is difficult to treat, especially with respiratory infections, you can increase the dose of Synulox by 2 times (up to 25 mg per 1 kg of animal weight) twice a day or shorten the intervals between drug administration. In the case of chronic or intractable diseases, often accompanied by significant tissue damage, a longer course of therapy with Synulox is recommended: the duration of treatment for chronic skin diseases and chronic cystitis is 10-28 days and for respiratory diseases – 8-10 days.
