Ceva Vectra Felis for cats
Ceva Vectra Felis is a combined topical insect-acaricidal preparation made especially for cats. Effectively protects the animal from infestation by fleas, and if present, contributes to their rapid destruction.
Modern active ingredients in the composition of the product have the ability to accumulate in the upper layers of the skin and hair follicles of the animal, practically without getting into the systemic circulation, and do not harm cats. They begin to act within 5 minutes after contact with the skin and eliminate adult and immature fleas and larvae.
A single treatment of animals with Vectra Felis prevents flea infestation for one month. Re-treatment with the agent is recommended after 30 days. In case of severe flea infestation, after mandatory consultation with a veterinarian, the treatment can be repeated after 2 weeks.
The drug is a clear, pale yellow solution.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
ATCvet QP53, ectoparasiticides, insecticides and repellents.
Dinotefuran , a guanidine derivative, belongs to the neurotoxins of the neonicotinoid class, acts on the postsynaptic acetylcholine receptors of the nervous system, causing paralysis and death of ectoparasites.
Pyriproxyfen is an analogue of a juvenile hormone that regulates the growth and development of insects, including fleas. Its mechanism of action is to disrupt the normal cycle of insect metamorphosis: egg – larva – pupa – adult. It interferes with full development and causes the death of insects at the stage of pupal development, which leads to a reduction in the population of ectoparasites. Thanks to this, Vectra Felis effectively destroys adult and immature fleas, as well as their larvae.
When applied externally, the substances that make up Vectra Felis accumulate in the epidermis, hair follicles and sebaceous glands, which contributes to a long-term contact insectoacaricidal and repellent effect.
