Description

Liquid white or light gray, odorless.

Pharmacological properties

A broad-spectrum anthelmintic from the group of benzimidazoles. Inhibits protein (tubular) synthesis, resulting in impaired supply and intracellular transport of nutrients, metabolism of substrates (adenosine triphosphate and glucose), inhibition of fumarate reductase reduces mitochondrial reactions, which causes the death of parasites.

Effective against mature trematodes Fasciola hepatica, Dicrocelium lanceatum, nematodes that parasitize the gastrointestinal tract and lungs – Vunostomum spp., Cooperia spp., Distiosaulidae spp., Naemonchus spp., Nematodirus Spp. ., Trichuris spp. etc., some types of cestodes – Avitellina centrirumstata, Moniesia ehransa, M. benedebia, Thusania ziagiardi.

Indication

Deworming of cattle, sheep, goats, horses, dogs, cats, fur animals, when affected by nematodes, cestodes, trematodes.

Cattle:

• nematodes of the gastrointestinal tract and respiratory tract: Haemonchus placei, Bunostomum phlebotomum, Oesophagostomum spp., Trichostrongylus spp., Ostertagia spp., Cooperia oncophora, Chabertia spp., Neoascaris vitulorum, Strongyloides Papillosus, Mucus Strongus, Dictyoca sic.
• cestodes: Moniezia spp., Thysaniesia giardia
• trematodes: Fasciola hepatica (mature), Dicrocaelium lanceatum

Sheep, goats:

Method of application and dosage

Before use, the drug is thoroughly shaken and added to water or feed. The therapeutic mixture is given once individually or in groups at the beginning of morning feeding.

In ruminants, the mixture is forcibly fed from a rubber or plastic bottle, to which two-thirds of warm water, the drug is added and shaken. In other species, the dose of the drug is mixed with wet food or added to a third of the daily requirement of water and watered in a group method.

Doses of the drug for different species of animals are listed in the table.

At disease of ruminants on fasciolosis the drug is used at any time of the year. Given that albendazole is ineffective against fasciol larvae, the first preventive deworming is carried out in 2-2.5 months after the end of the grazing period, and the second – not later than 10-15 days before grazing animals on pasture.

Reservation

After the last application of the drug slaughter of cattle, sheep, goats for meat is allowed in 10 days. People can eat liver, kidneys, lungs, heart of ruminants in 20 days, milk – in 2 days.

Contraindication

Do not prescribe to females in the first third of pregnancy, ewes during the mating season and in the first month after hatching.
