Albuvir is a broad-spectrum antiviral agent that is effective when administered orally. Intended for the prevention and treatment of animal diseases caused by RNA-containing viruses: paramyxoviruses (Newcastle disease, IRT), coronaviruses (infectious bronchitis), Gamboro disease. DNA-containing viruses: herpesviruses (Marek’s disease, ILT), circovirus (infectious anemia of chickens), fowl pox, pestiviruses, vesiculoviruses.
The drug is a composition of acidic peptides capable of self-organization and self-adaptation in the body, the mechanism of which is based on the blockade of nuclear import peptides and prevent importins with the viral genome from crossing the nuclear membrane. The effect of the drug is observed already 20 minutes after application. Adaptation to the drug is impossible on the part of the virus and the animal organism due to the fact that the drug is a living self-organizing system and its composite pharmacophore is unique for each animal and virus.
Indications for use
It is effective in the prevention and treatment of viral diseases caused by DNA and RNA viruses, the reproduction cycle of which viruses depends on the cell nucleus.
Type of animals: farm animals and poultry.
Method of application and dosage
For the prevention of viral diseases: 0.09 ml of 10% solution per 1 kg of weight orally (according to the application scheme – see below). For the treatment of viral diseases of animals, Albuvir is used daily for 5-7 days at 0.09 ml of 10% solution per 1 kg of weight orally for 2 hours.

Effect on the body of animals:
- acts as a natural barrier for the penetration of the virus into the cell, i.e. reduces the occurrence and spread of viral latent infections existing in the bird’s body
- has a direct antiviral effect (suppressing the reproduction of viruses of infectious bursal disease (Gumboro’s disease), infectious bronchitis
- has a virucidal effect (the ability to inactivate viruses, i.e. partial or complete loss of activity by a biologically active substance or agent, reduction or elimination of activity)
- effective at all stages of the replication cycle of viruses, which depends on the cell nucleus
- effective when taken orally
- the effect of the drug can be observed already 20 minutes after application
- adaptation on the part of the virus and the animal organism is impossible due to the fact that the drug is a living self-organizing system and its composite pharmacophore is unique for each animal and virus
- complete absence of toxicity, teratogenicity, mutagenicity and carcinogenicity, absolute biodegradability (peptides are broken down into amino acids)
- has a relatively low clearance (4 hours)
- the absence of cumulative properties that contribute to the improvement of the quality of animal meat, milk and other products, since the drug cannot be detected on meat after 8 hours
Interaction with other drugs: do not mix Albuvir with other drugs or antiseptics.
Store in a dry place at a temperature of 2 to 18 ºС.
