Ciprovet tablets for dogs, (ciprofloxacin hydrochloride)

Composition and pharmacological properties

One tablet “Ciprovet” contains ciprofloxacin hydrochloride (50 mg), lactulose (20 mg) and other auxiliary components as active ingredients.

Ciprofloxacin hydrochloride, which is part of the drug, belongs to the group of fluoroquinolones. The component has a fairly wide spectrum of antibacterial action, is active against gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria, including mycobacteria.

Lactulose is a prebiotic substance. The component stimulates the growth of lacto- and bifidobacteria, and also helps to suppress the growth of potentially pathogenic flora.

Indications for use

It is used in dogs for medicinal purposes in acute and chronic bacterial infections of the respiratory tract, gastrointestinal tract, biliary tract, skin and soft tissues, genitourinary system, joints and bones, as well as in the development of secondary infections against the background of viral diseases, the causative agents of which are sensitive to ciprofloxacin.

Contraindications

Do not give kittens and puppies until the end of the growth period, females during lactation and pregnancy, animals with pronounced abnormalities in the development of cartilage tissue, individuals with lesions of the nervous system.

It should not be used in combination with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, bacteriostatic antibiotics, as well as drugs that contain cations of aluminum, magnesium and calcium.

The order of application and dose

They are given to animals individually orally once a day for 3-5 days in the following dosages:

dogs of medium and large breeds: 1 tablet “Ciprovet tablets for dogs” per 10 kg of body weight.

Side effects

With individual hypersensitivity to fluoroquinolones, the following are possible:

• impaired coordination of movements;
• swelling;
• refusal to feed;
• vomit.

Storage

“Tsiprovet” should be stored in the manufacturer’s packaging out of the reach of children and animals. The drug must be protected from direct sunlight. The temperature regime should be observed (from 0 ° С to +25 ° С).

Release form

The drug is available in tablets, packaged in 10 pieces. into blisters. The medicine is packed in a cardboard box.
