Execaner (dexamethasone, nicotinamide, pyridoxine, methionine)
Composition and form of release:
Execan contains the following components: dexamethasone 1 mg; nicotinamide (vitamin PP) 10 mg; pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6) 50 mg; methionine 300 mg; filler (sucrose) up to 8 g.
Execan is a white sugar cube weighing 8 g, soluble in water.
Execan is packaged in 8 cubes in hermetically sealed plastic blisters, which are packed in cardboard boxes of two blisters. Each package is marked with the name and purpose of the drug, manufacturer, batch number, expiration date and supplied with instructions for use.
Pharmachologic effect:
The active ingredient in Execan, dexamethasone, is a synthetic glucocorticoid with anti-inflammatory activity. It stabilizes the permeability of cell membranes and prevents the production of inflammatory mediators. Due to its chemical structure, dexamethasone has a much greater anti-inflammatory activity than natural glucocorticoids. Dexamethasone is readily absorbed in the intestine, distributed in tissues (often in the form of a complex with blood plasma proteins), and excreted in the urine. The vitamin components of Execan, nicotinamide (vitamin PP) and pyridoxine (vitamin B6), play an important role in cellular redox reactions, participate in the processes of transamination, decarboxylation of amino acids. Pyridoxine is also a coenzyme in the biochemical reactions of the nervous tissue. Vitamins are readily absorbed in the small intestine and transported to cells. The fourth component of Execan, methionine, is a vital amino acid that is involved in various biochemical reactions and is metabolized in the body in the form of numerous derivatives. Methionine is especially necessary for liver cells and for the synthesis of keratin.
Doses and method of administration:
Execan is indicated for the treatment of acute and chronic dermatitis and eczema of non-bacterial and non-parasitic etiology in dogs and cats. The sugar cube is fed from the owner’s hand or added to food or water.
The first 4 days of treatment is carried out in the following daily dosages:
cats and dwarf dogs (animal weight 1-5 kg): 0.5 cubes;
small dogs (animal weight 5-15 kg): 1 cube;
medium dogs (animal weight 15-30 kg): 1.5 cubes;
large dogs (animal weight 30 kg and more): 2 cubes.
Subsequent treatment – 8 days ½ dose.
Contraindications:
Execan is not recommended for use by pregnant animals, diabetes and acute viral diseases.
Side effects:
The use of Execan in some animals may cause vomiting.
Storage conditions:
Store Execan in the manufacturer’s packaging in a dry place at a temperature of 10 to 25 C.
Shelf life:
4 years from the date of production.
