Fyprist spray 100 mp

General information:
Dosage form: solution for external use.

Fiprist as an active ingredient contains fipronil – 0.25%, and as auxiliary components – copovidone – 2%, isopropanol – 80% and purified water – up to 100%.

The spray is produced in polyethylene bottles with a spray head of 100 ml, 250 ml and 500 ml.

Store the medicinal product in the manufacturer’s packaging, separately from food and feed, in a dry, dark place, away from heating devices and sources of fire, at a temperature of 0 ° C to 25 ° C.

The shelf life of the medicinal product, subject to storage conditions, is 2 years from the date of manufacture.

Pharmacological properties:
Fiprist spray belongs to insecticidal preparations of the phenylpyrosol group.

It is active against all phases of development of lice, fleas, lice and ixodid ticks parasitizing dogs and cats.

The mechanism of action of fipronil, which is part of the drug, is to block the GABA-dependent receptors of arthropods, impair the transmission of nerve impulses, which leads to paralysis and death of ectoparasites.

After applying the drug to the skin and hair, fipronil is practically not absorbed into the systemic circulation, accumulates in the wool, epidermis, hair follicles and sebaceous glands of the animal’s body, has a long-term contact insectoacaricidal effect, ensuring the protection of the animal from ectoparasites.

The protective effect of the drug after treatment of dogs against ixodid ticks lasts up to 5 weeks, against insects – up to 3 months, after treatment of cats against fleas – up to 40 days.

Fiprist spray, according to the degree of impact on the body, belongs to moderately hazardous substances (hazard class 3 according to GOST 12.1.007-76), in recommended doses it does not have a skin-irritating and resorptive-toxic effect, when it gets into the eyes, it causes slight irritation. The drug is toxic to rabbits, as well as fish and other aquatic organisms.

How to use:
Fiprist spray is prescribed to dogs and cats with entomoses, otodectosis, and ixodid ticks.

A contraindication to use is the increased individual sensitivity of the animal to the ingredients of the drug (including a history).

It is forbidden to use the spray to patients with infectious diseases, convalescent and weakened animals, as well as puppies and kittens under one week of age.

The processing of animals is carried out in the open air or in a well-ventilated room with open windows (vents), after removing the cages with decorative birds from the room and covering the aquariums with fish. To prevent licking of the drug, the animal is put on a muzzle, a neck collar, or the jaws are fixed with a loop of braid, which are removed after the coat is completely dry.

Before use, the bottle with the drug is thoroughly shaken and, holding it vertically, press the spray head, directing the aerosol torch onto the treated surface from a distance of 10-20 cm. The dose of the drug, depending on the length of the coat, is 3-6 ml per 1 kg of animal weight.

The drug is easily dosed:

– one press on the spray head of a bottle with a capacity of 100 ml provides a dose of 0.5 ml;

– one press on the spray head of a 250 ml bottle provides a dose of 1.5 ml;

– one press on the spray head of a 500 ml bottle provides a dose of 3.0 ml.

The spray is applied to the entire body of the animal against hair growth, slightly moistening the coat (in long-haired animals, the coat is lifted by hand). Covering the eyes of the animal, treat the auricles and chest, with fingertips (with a glove), the drug is lightly rubbed around the eyes and nose.

In order to prevent re-infestation of animals with fleas, the bedding is replaced or treated with an insecticidal agent in accordance with the instructions for its use.

Until the coat is completely dry, the treated animal should not be allowed near open fire and heating devices.

It is not recommended to wash the animal 2 days before treatment, as well as to wash and bathe in the open water for 2 days after treatment with Fiprist spray.

Auricular use of the drug (for ear scabies) is not allowed when the tympanic membrane is perforated.

In case of an overdose of the drug, the animal may experience excessive salivation, muscle tremors, and vomiting. In this case, the drug is washed off with water and detergent, the animal is prescribed symptomatic therapy.

The peculiarities of the action of the drug during its first use and withdrawal were not revealed.

Violations of the drug use regimen should be avoided, as this can lead to a decrease in its effectiveness. If the next treatment is missed, it is resumed in the same dosage and according to the same scheme.

When using the drug in accordance with this instruction, side effects and complications in animals are not observed. In case of increased individual sensitivity and the appearance of allergic reactions, the drug should be washed off with water and detergent and antihistamines and symptomatic therapy should be prescribed to the animal.

Fiprist spray should not be used in conjunction with other insecticidal products for treating animals.

Fiprist spray is not intended for use on productive animals.
