Description:
Oily sterile suspension for injection, white or pale yellow.
Structure:
1 ml of the preparation contains active ingredient:
ceftiofur – 50.0 mg.
Excipients: benzyl alcohol, aluminum stearate, hydroxytolyun butylate, triglyceride.
Pharmacological properties:
Ceftiofur belongs to cephalosporin antibiotics (third generation). Resistant to β-lactamase, active against gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms: Pasteurella haemolytica (Mannheimia spp.), Escherichia coli, Pasteurella multocida, Haemophilus somnus, Fusobacterium necrophorum, and Bacteroes cannabis, Fusobacterium necrophorum, and Bacteroides necrophorium, Fusobacterium necrophorum, and Bacteroides necrophorium, Fusobacterium, Fusobacterium necrophorum, and Bacteroides necrophorium, Fusobacterium necrophorum, and Bacteroides melaninonobenzene as (porphyry). multocida, Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae and Streptococcus suis.
Ceftіofur blocks the synthesis of bacterial cell walls by inhibiting the synthesis of peptidoglycan. It is used only as an injection.
Application:
Treatment of cattle and pigs for skin, respiratory and urinary tract diseases caused by microorganisms susceptible to ceftiofur, namely: Pasteurella haemolytica (Mannheimia spp.), Pasteurella multocida, Haemophilus somnus, Fusobacterium asphyxia necrophorum and Bactero- genicus Escherichia coli, Arcanobacterium pyogenes, Fusobacterium necrophorum, Arcanobacterium pyogenes, Pasteurella multocida, Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae and Streptococcus suis.
Dosage:
Intramuscularly or subcutaneously.
Pigs: intramuscularly in a dose of 1 ml of the drug per 16 kg of body weight for 3 days.
Cattle: for respiratory diseases – subcutaneously in a dose of 1 ml of the drug per 50 kg of body weight for 3 – 5 days; with necrobacteriosis – subcutaneously at a dose of 1 ml of the drug per 50 kg of body weight for 3 days; In case of acute postpartum metritis within 10 days after calving – subcutaneously in a dose of 1 ml of the drug per 50 kg of body weight for 5 days, continued use depending on the condition of the sick animal.
Contraindications:
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to cephalosporins and other β-lactam antibiotics.
Do not administer to animals with severe renal impairment. Do not use concomitantly with tetracyclines, macrolides, chloramphenicol and lincosamides. Do not administer intravenously.
Caveats:
Slaughter of animals for meat is allowed 3 (cattle) and 4 (pigs) days after the last use of the drug. The consumption of milk for human consumption is allowed 0 days after the last use of the drug. The meat obtained before the specified period is disposed of or fed to unproductive animals, depending on the conclusion of a veterinary doctor.
Release form:
Vials made of dark glass are closed with a rubber stopper for an aluminum rim of 100 ml.
Storage:
Dry, dark place out of the reach of children at temperatures from + 15 ° C to + 25 ° C.
After the first selection from the vial, the drug must be used within 14 days, provided that it is stored in a dark place at a temperature of + 2 ° C to + 8 ° C.
