MilbePet (milbemycin oxime, praziquantel) dewormer for large dogs 2 tablets

Ingredients:  milbemycin oxime – 12.5 mg; praziquantel – 125 mg.

MilbePet tablets for dogs belong to the group of combined anthelmintic drugs of nematodocidal and cestodocidal action.

Milbemycin oxime is a macrocyclic lactone obtained by the enzymatic activity of Streptomyces hygroscopicus var. Aureolacrimosus, active against larvae and adults of nematodes parasitizing in the gastrointestinal tract of dogs, as well as larvae of the nematode Dirofilaria immitis.

The mechanism of action of milbemycin is due to increased permeability of cell membranes for chlorine ions (SG), which leads to overpolarization of cell membranes of nerve and muscle tissue, paralysis and death of the parasite. The maximum concentration of milbemycin oxime in the blood plasma of dogs is reached within 2-4 hours, the bioavailability is about 80%. From the body the compound is excreted mainly unchanged.

Praziquantel is an acylated derivative of pyrazinisoquinoline, has a pronounced effect against cestodes and nematodes. Increasing the permeability of the parasite’s cell membranes to calcium ions (Ca2 +), causes depolarization of the membranes, muscle contraction and destruction of the tegument, which leads to the death of the parasite and promotes its excretion from the animal. The maximum concentration of praziquantel in the blood plasma of dogs is reached in 1-4 hours. The compound undergoes rapid and almost complete biotransformation in the liver. The level of binding in plasma is about 80%, excreted within 2 days mainly in the urine.

Application method

MilbePet tablets for dogs are used once during feeding with a small amount of food or forced into the root of the tongue after feeding a minimum therapeutic dose of 0.5 mg of milbemycin oxime and 5 mg of praziquantel per 1 kg of animal weight, at the rate of:
