The liquid is light yellow, transparent.
Pharmacological properties
Closantel is a synthetic compound from the group of salicylanides. Inhibits and stops the transfer of electrons, which alters the energy metabolism of parasites and causes their death. It has a wide range of antiparasitic action, active against trematodes, nematodes, mites, lice, rubella and larvae of mosquitoes.
After intramuscular injection is rapidly absorbed, the maximum concentration in the blood is reached after 12 hours and persists for 24-36 hours, therapeutic concentration – for 10-11 days. It is not biotransformed in the body and is excreted mainly unchanged in the feces, and in lactating cows – partly with milk.
Indication
Treatment and prevention of cattle, sheep, goats, dogs, cats with parasitic diseases caused by ecto- and endoparasites of different localization.
Contraindication
Do not prescribe to females in the last third of pregnancy.
Do not use simultaneously with organophosphorus drugs.
Method of application and dosage
Treatment against helminthiasis is carried out at the beginning and end of the stall period, against hypodermatosis – immediately after the flight of geds or when the genus is detected in the spring.
The drug is administered subcutaneously. Intramuscular administration is allowed to cattle. Injection of more than 3 ml is divided into two parts and injected into different places.
In the group method, each batch of the drug is pre-tested on a small number of animals. In the absence of complications, treatment is carried out throughout the herd.
