Toltrazuril 25 mg/ml BAYCOX ANALOG – coccidiostat for eimeriosis in poultry, 100 ml
Orally with water
Storage
1 ml of the drug contains:
toltrazuril – 25 mg
Description
The liquid is colorless or light yellow, transparent.
Pharmacological properties
Toltrazuril is a synthetic compound derived from triazintrione. Has a wide range of coccidiocidal action on eimeria at all stages of intracellular development (merogonia, homogeny) – Eimeria tenella, E. necatrix, E. maxima, E. acervulina, E. mitis, E. adenoides, E. meleagrimitis, E. anseris, E truncata, E. nosens, E. brunetti, E. anatis, E. danailovi, including those resistant to other antiprotozoal agents.
Changes the microstructure of eimerias at all stages of their development. Causes swelling of the endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi bodies, alters the perinuclear space, damages cell walls, reduces the activity of enzymes in the respiratory system of parasites.
After oral administration, it is well absorbed, reaching maximum plasma concentrations in 4.7-5 hours and is metabolized first to the short-lived intermediate metabolite toltrazuril sulfoxide and then to the stable terminal toltrazuril sulfone. Depending on the dose, the maximum concentration of toltrazuric sulfoxide in plasma is recorded in 7.5-8 hours, and toltrazuril sulfone – in 51-54 hours after administration. The half-life of toltrazuril is approximately 10.7 hours, toltrazuryl sulfoxide is about 15 hours, and toltrazurine sulfone is 82.9 hours. The long half-life of toltrazuril and especially toltrazuril sulfone ensures the effectiveness of the drug and its prolonged coccidiostatic effect.
Indication
Treatment of chickens, chickens, turkeys, geese, ducks for eimeriosis caused by eimeria of different species.
Method of application and dosage
The drug is given to birds with drinking water at a dose of 0.28 ml (7 mg of toltrazuril) per 1 kg of body weight per day. To do this, dilute 1 ml of the drug in 1 liter of drinking water and feed the birds during the day or dilute 3 ml of the drug and give the birds only for 8 hours a day. The course of treatment in both cases is 2 days.
The treatment solution is prepared immediately before use. It can be stored only for a day. A precipitate may form in the solution, therefore dosing pumps should not be used to work with the drug and the solution should be thoroughly mixed before use.
Treatment is carried out for all poultry at the same time.
The drug dissolves well by adding no more than 4 ml to 1 liter of water.
In order for the bird to consume the drug solution evenly, it must have free access to drinkers. Birds kept in free-range should be kept indoors for the duration of the treatment.
After drinking the therapeutic solution, the drinkers are washed from the drug residues.
