COMPOSITION AND FORM OF ISSUE
Floron 30% is an antibacterial drug containing 300 mg of florfenicol as an active ingredient in 1 ml, as well as auxiliary components water and dimethyl sulfoxide. It is a transparent solution of a thick consistency from light yellow to dark yellow, well soluble in water, with a specific odor. Packaged in 100 ml bottles made of dark glass, which are packed in cardboard boxes.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Florfenicol, which is part of the drug, is a thiamphenicol derivative, in the molecule of which the hydroxyl group is replaced by a fluorine atom. Floron 30% has a broad spectrum of antibacterial action, active against Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae , Pasteurella multocida , Pasteurella haemolytica , Bordetella bronchiseptica , Haemophilus spp ., Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae , Mycoplasma hyorhinis , Salmonella spp ., Staphylococcus aureus , Streptococcus suis , Fusobacterium necrophorum , Bacteroides melaninogenicus , Moraxella bovis… Effective against bacteria that produce acetyltransferase and are resistant to chloramphenicol. Floron 30% acts bacteriostatically. Florfenicol, binding in the protoplasm of a bacterial cell with the 70S ribosomal subunit, blocks the peptidyl transferase enzyme, which leads to inhibition of protein synthesis at the ribosome level in sensitive microorganisms. When administered intramuscularly, florfenicol is well and quickly absorbed and penetrates into all organs and tissues of the body. The maximum concentration of the antibiotic in the blood is reached in pigs after 2.5 hours. The therapeutic antibacterial concentration remains in the organs and tissues of animals for 48 hours. Florfenicol and its metabolites are excreted from the body mainly in the urine and to a lesser extent in the feces.
