Metronidazole 5% Injection
Description : colorless or yellowish liquid.
Ingredients : 100 ml of the drug contains metronidazole 5 g
Pharmacological properties : metronidazole belongs to the group of nitroimdazole and has antiprotozoal, antibacterial and bactericidal action. Excreted in 48 hours, mainly in the urine.
Usage : all species for the treatment and prevention of dysentery, colibacillosis, eimeriosis, balantidiasis, salmonellosis, enteritis, septicemia, post-surgical complications.
Dosage : intramuscularly at a dose of 1 ml per 10 kg of live weight (5 mg of metronidazole per 1 kg of live weight) in dysentery caused by Treponema spp .; 2 ml per 10 kg of body weight in dysentery caused by anaerobes, as well as in balantidiosis. The drug is administered once a day until the symptoms disappear (usually 1-2 injections are enough). Rabbits and nutria are given the drug with water at a dose of 0.4-0.5 ml per 1 kg of body weight for 2-3 days. Birds 5-6 ml per 1 liter of water for 10 days.
Contraindications and use: do not use the drug in the first third of pregnancy. It is forbidden to use together with alcoholic drugs.
Conditions and term of storage : dry dark place at a temperature from +5 to +25 ° C.
Shelf life : 3 years.
