Ciprovet (ciprofloxacin) for cats, puppies and small breeds of dogs 10 tablets

Composition and pharmacological properties

Contains as active substance ciprofloxacin and prebiotic. Ciprofloxacin hydrochloride (15 mg / tablet for cats and 50 mg / tablet for dogs), which is part of the drug, belongs to the group of fluoroquinolones and has a broad spectrum of antibacterial action; active against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including Echerichia coli, Salmonella spp., Shigella spp., Klebsiella spp., Enterobacter spp., Proteus spp., Yersinia spp., Haemophilus spp., Haemophilus spp., Pseudomonas aeruiglosoloda, Paste jejuni, Brucella spp., Chlamydia trachomatis, Listeria monocytogenes, Mycobacterium spp., Corynebacterium diphtheriase, Staphylococcus spp. and Streptococcus spp.

Prebiotic lactulose is a synthetic polysaccharide that is not hydrolyzed by digestive enzymes of the body, in the large intestine is fermented by normal microflora, stimulating the growth of bifidobacteria and lactobacilli.

Indications for use

Dogs and cats for therapeutic purposes in chronic and acute bacterial infections of the gastrointestinal tract, biliary tract, respiratory system, genitourinary system, skin and soft tissues, bones and joints, as well as secondary infections due to viral diseases, the causative agents of which are sensitive to ciprofloxacin.

Contraindication

Females during pregnancy and lactation, animals with severe disorders of cartilage, lesions of the nervous system, accompanied by convulsions, as well as puppies and kittens until the end of the growth period.

It should not be used concomitantly with bacteriostatic antibiotics (chloramphenicol, macrolides and tetracyclines), theophylline and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, as well as with preparations containing cations of magnesium, aluminum and calcium, which bind to ciprofloxacin and inhibit its adsorption.

Side effects

At the increased individual sensitivity of an animal to fluorophinolones refusal of a forage, vomiting, hypostasis, disturbance of coordination of movements is possible. If side effects occur, the drug is discontinued and desensitizing therapy is performed.

Doses and procedure

Apply to animals individually orally once a day for 3 – 5 days in the following doses:

 cats, puppies and dogs of small breeds – 1 tablet for every 3 kg of animal weight;

Storage

Store the drug in the manufacturer’s packaging, in a place protected from direct sunlight, at a temperature of 0 to 25 ° C.

Tablets are packed in 10 pieces in blisters. Outer packaging – cardboard box.
