Storage

Pharmacological action

Doxycycline – an antibiotic that belongs to the group of tetracyclines. There is bacteriostatic at bacteria ribosomes, preventing protein synthesis. The drug has a broad spectrum antimicrobial activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria (Staphylococcus spp., Diplococcus pneumonia, Streptococcus spp., Haemophilus influenza., E. coli, Pneumococci, Bacillus antracis, Clostridium tetani, Clostridium perfringes, Listeria monocytogens, Actinomyces spp., Entirobacter spp., Klebsiella spp., Salmonella spp., Shigella, Yersinia spp.), and mycoplasma, rickettsia and chlamydia. After oral administration, doxycycline is rapidly absorbed and reaches peak blood concentrations after 3 hours and stored in the body for a long time.

Application

Prevention and treatment of respiratory and gastrointestinal tract bacterial etiology in poultry and pigs.

Batching

Orally.

Poultry:

– Treatment – 100 g per 200 liters of drinking water for 5-7 days;

– Prevention – 50 grams per 200 liters of drinking water for 5 days.

Pigs:

– Treatment – 100 g per 100 liters of drinking water for 3-5 days;

– Prevention – 50 grams per 100 liters of drinking water for 3-5 days.

Contraindication

Do not apply to animals susceptible to tetracycline and animals with kidney and liver. Do not use chicken-laying hens.

Reservation

Slaughter of animals for meat is permitted after 4 days after the last use of the drug. By the deadline meat fed to animals or utilize unproductive (depending to a doctor of veterinary medicine).
