Description
Brovaseptol antibacterial tablets (sodium norsulfazole, sulgin, trimethoprim, oxytetracycline, tylosin tartrate)
Description:
Tablets are flat cylindrical with beveled edges, with a notch for dividing on one side and the manufacturer’s logo on the other, light yellow.
Composition:
1 tablet (1 g) contains active ingredients:
- sodium norsulfazole – 80 mg;
- sulgin – 70 mg;
- trimethoprim – 30 mg;
- oxytetracycline hydrochloride – 45 mg;
- tylosin tartrate – 25 mg.
Pharmacological properties:
Brovaseptol® is a complex preparation of a wide spectrum of bactericidal and bacteriostatic action.
Tylosin tartrate is a macrolide antibiotic. Effective against gram-positive and some gram-negative microorganisms (Corynebacterium spp., Clostridium spp., Erysipelothrix spp., Pasteurella spp., Vibrio spp., Leptospira spp., Brucella spp., Neisseria spp., Haemophilus spp., Rickettsia) , spirochetes (Spirochaeta (Borrelia anserine, Brachyspirahyodysenteriae)), as well as against mycoplasmas (M. gallisepticum, M. synoviae, M. meleagridis, etc.) Tylosin tartrate exhibits bacteriostatic action by inhibiting protein synthesis (due to irreversible connection with 50S subunits of bacterial ribosomes), microbial cell growth and reproduction, respectively.
Norsulfazole is an antimicrobial bacteriostatic agent. It is active against gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms: Escherichia coli, Shigella spp., Klebsiella spp., Vibrio cholerae, Clostridium perfringens, Bacillus anthracis, Corynebacterium diphtheriae, Yersinia pestis, Chlamydomyces spp., Actma spp.
Sulgin is an antimicrobial bacteriostatic agent, sulfonamide. The mechanism of action is due to antagonism with PABA and competitive inhibition of dihydropteroate synthetase, which leads to a violation of the synthesis of tetrahydrofolic acid, which is necessary for the synthesis of purines and pyrimidines. Inhibits the growth of Escherichia coli and reduces the synthesis of thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, etc. in the intestine.
Oxytetracycline is a bacteriostatic antibiotic, the mechanism of action of which is to disrupt protein synthesis during its interaction with ribosomes, as well as to reduce the permeability of the cytoplasmic membrane of sensitive microorganisms. The drug has a wide spectrum of action against gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms: Streptococcus spp., Clostridium spp., Corynebacterium spp., Brucella spp., Haemophilus spp., E. coli, Pasteurella spp., Klebsiella spp., Erysipelothobacterium spp., Spp. , Salmonella spp., And also affects parasitic protozoa (Protozoa), mycoplasma (Mycoplasma spp.), Rickettsia (Rickettsia spp.) And chlamydia (Chlamydia).
Trimethoprim is a chemotherapeutic drug with a bactericidal effect against gram-positive (Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Clostridium spp., Corynebacterium spp. And others) and gram-negative (E. coli, Salmonella spp., Klebsiella spp., Proteteus spp., ., Bordetella spp., Etc.) microorganisms. It inhibits bacterial reductase, which converts dehydrofolic acid to tetrahydrofolic acid, which is essential for the synthesis of purines and nucleic acids. As a result, trimethoprim blocks one of the main metabolic processes of bacteria on the pathway of protein synthesis.
Application:
Treatment of animals and poultry for diseases of the digestive tract, respiratory tract and genitourinary system, namely:
- Calves suffering from gastroenteritis, salmonellosis, pasteurellosis, vibriosis caused by microorganisms sensitive to the constituents of the drug;
- Pigs with enzootic pneumonia, arthritis, dysentery, edema, erysipelas, salmonellosis, pasteurellosis caused by microorganisms sensitive to the constituents of the drug;
- Sheep suffering from septicemia, eimeriosis, infectious agalactia caused by microorganisms sensitive to the constituents of the drug;
- Poultry (chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese), sick with typhus, cholera, salmonellosis, mycoplasmosis, rhinitis caused by microorganisms sensitive to the constituents of the drug.
Dosage:
Orally with dry or wet food, pre-crush the tablets.
For all animal species, the daily dose of the drug is 1-1.5 g (1-1.5 tablets) per 10 kg of body weight.
The daily dose is given in two doses.
On the first day of use, the dose of Brovaseptol® is increased by 30-100%.
The course of treatment is 4-5 days, until the symptoms of the disease disappear completely. Otherwise, the treatment can be extended by 1-2 days.
Contraindications:
Do not use for the treatment of animals with hypersensitivity to norsulfazole, tylosin, oxytetracycline, sulgin, trimethoprim, as well as animals with liver and kidney diseases. Do not use for the treatment of dairy cows whose milk is used for human food and laying hens whose eggs are used for human food.
Caveats:
Slaughter of animals and poultry for meat is allowed 8 days after the last use of the drug. The meat obtained before the specified time is disposed of or fed to unproductive animals, depending on the conclusion of a veterinary doctor.
